About ForgeSport

A strength app built by one developer who lifts. Science-backed, honest about scope, and designed to think with you, not just record what you did.

The founder

Thomas — solo builder

I built ForgeSport as a solo developer because the strength apps I was using (Hevy, Strong, Fitbod) recorded my sessions but never helped me decide what to lift next Monday.

My priority: an app that reads your program context, understands your loads and RPE, and takes the initiative every Sunday to adjust — the reflex of a coach, not a logbook.

The app is built in France, alone. No investors, no VC pressure to inflate metrics. Revenue is 100% subscription-based, so the product owes nothing to advertisers.

Editorial principles

Science before marketing

Every recommendation rests on peer-reviewed studies (PubMed, meta-analyses). When a claim lacks scientific consensus, I say so explicitly.

No shortcuts, no PEDs

The programs are built for natural lifters. I neither promote nor minimize doping substances — that's a personal choice with medical oversight.

No compromising partnerships

No commercial ties with supplement brands. No affiliate links on nutrition recommendations. Revenue comes solely from Pro subscriptions.

Transparent about scope

ForgeSport doesn't replace a physiotherapist, sports doctor or dietitian. For any pain, injury or condition, the app and articles consistently redirect to a healthcare professional.

Continuous updates

Articles are reviewed and updated as the literature evolves. Each article displays its last-updated date.

Methodology

1

Research

Weekly monitoring of new meta-analyses and studies in training science, sports nutrition and recovery. PubMed, JISSN, Sports Medicine, MSSE.

2

Structure

Programs follow the general → specific principle: general adaptation phase → specialization → peak → deload. Structured periodization.

3

RPE calibration

Loads are guided by RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion). More sustainable than a rigid % of 1RM, especially at intermediate/advanced levels.

4

Weekly adaptation

The engine reads your logged RPE, completion rate, and load progression. Every Sunday it adjusts next week's program: no static plan.

5

Biomechanical alternatives

Every exercise has 2–4 biomechanical equivalents. Machine taken, a tweak, want variety? One tap swaps and recalculates the load.
